Article: Mesh Magic

Mesh Magic

Mesh Magic

Last year during the Adelaide Fashion Festival we had the opportunity to experiment with some different materials outside the realms of our usual canvas base. Tiff decided to try using a type of mesh which is generally used for industrial purposes! Never in it's wildest dreams would this mesh have expected to be living the life of a fashion-forward clutch. #goals

After a couple of different experimentations, and finding uses for the mesh in our one-off runway clutches, we began the process of developing a commercial product to become part of our regular range. We loved the idea of not making the whole bag out of painted canvas as per usual, but instead using a smaller, very select piece of canvas as a feature. The result has appealed to a lot of girls searching for a clutch for a more formal occasion, and as a more simple, chic and subtle alternative to an entirely painted bag. This clutch is the size of our standard 'large' clutch, and with a PVC lining the items inside sit nice and snug.

We started off only using the white mesh, but just this week we have introduced two new colour styles of these mesh clutches - black and natural. The black gives an edgier look while the natural gives a summery, woven look. Claire has been assembling these bags over the past few weeks, and is excited to have a new backdrop to match the colour palettes of the circles to. Here are a couple of pictures of these newbies being assembled, and also a few finished pieces! The new black and natural styles are available both on our online store and in our Adelaide studio.
