This Wee Piggy x Tiff Manuell Earring Collab

This Wee Piggy is an ethical jewellery brand designed and hand-crafted in Adelaide by loving creator Heather, who focuses on affordable and sustainable pieces that pop with colour. Collaborating with Tiff in a collusion of love for colour and craftsmanship, This Wee Piggy x Tiff Manuell is a natural coming together of two creative processes that compliment each other perfectly.

Starting This Wee Piggy around 10 years ago, Heather began making and selling cards to boutique stores, and this process organically merged into creating jewellery, designing pieces that are colourful, affordable and fun. Having great respect for the planet, Heather uses wood sourced from sustainably managed forests, which she takes great care in laser cutting to maximise all surface areas and minimise waste. Her jewellery is bold and full of love, and Tiff loves the true passion that Heather has for her craft.

Taking genuine enjoyment from working with authentic creators who are just as passionate as she is about creating beautiful things, Tiff has collaborated with This Wee Piggy previously by matching Heather’s colourful jewellery pieces with complimenting Tiff clutches. Now, these two creators are evolving their artistic relationship to the next level by combining their creative processes into one-of-a-kind accessories. The resulting product is truly a labor of love.

Using the off-cuts of Tiff’s hand-painted canvasses, Heather decides which areas of the paintings she will use and then incorporates them into her beautifully simple and hand-crafted earring designs. “Coming up with the designs and having them cut, collecting the fabric from Tiff and deciding on which areas to feature, glueing, trimming, sealing, more glueing…Its days and days of love,” is how she described this collaborative process. Describing herself with a dislike for rules or boundaries or getting stuck in a rut, Heather and Tiff both share a love for the always-evolving and free process of creating.

When we spoke to Heather about her craft and what she loves about her collaboration with Tiff, she said “It’s honestly my dream Job. I step into Tiff’s studio and the colour is so energising for me, I’m totally giddy by the time I leave.” Describing themselves as colour lovers, this passion is boldly expressed by Heather and Tiff, and is ever-present in both of their creations.

Tiff and Heather also share a spontaneity and authentic love in their design process and how they find inspiration. When asked how Heather comes up with her jewellery designs, her response was filled with joy for the inspiration that can be found in everyday moments. “Gates and shadows, lines and colour combos” - these are only a few examples of the inspiration that she believes is awaiting everywhere to be found - “you just need to look.”
